The IIRRT is responsible for setting and maintaining education standards within both professions in Ireland and also for promoting excellence of service for the patient / service user, to ensure maximum benefit in the context of minimum hazard.
One way in which these aims can be achieved is through the publication of clinical guidelines in the different areas of professional practice. These guidelines are issued by the IIRRT to provide guidance and advice to its practising members and to maintain the highest professional standards at all times. Extracts from each of the 13 different clinical guidelines are included here, as well as from the code of conduct and scope of practice. Complete versions are available within the members section of the website once users login!
Non members can also purchase these guidelines at a cost of 5 euro per copy. To purchase please email iirrtoffice@gmail.com for further details.
