Research
The IIRRT strongly encourages research and development in all aspects of radiography and radiation therapy. As outlined in the IIRRT constitution, radiographers and radiation therapists have a duty to ‘develop the practice of radiography and radiation therapy and as such engage in research and support the research of others’. Radiographers and radiation therapists must also disseminate the results of such research widely.
To achieve these aims, the IIRRT support research and development by radiographers and radiation therapists through our research and development funding programme.
Research and development are core elements of the development and sustainability of any profession. Radiographers and radiation therapists must demonstrate their ability to engage in such activities and thereby contribute to evidence-based medicine within their field and also as part of the multidisciplinary team.
