The first issue of The Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Journal (MIRTJ; ISSN 2712-2492) is soon being published.

I am pleased to inform you, the first issue of The Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Journal (MIRTJ; ISSN 2712-2492) is soon being published.

This is a peer-reviewed journal of the Slovenian Society of Radiographers. The Society has been established in 1954 and the first issue of its journal was called The Bulletin: Newsletter of the Slovenian Society of Radiographers, first published in 1983. Since then, the journal has been regularly published with few design changes but mostly with researches of greater quality. The Bulletin published scientific and professional articles as well as congress abstracts and occasionally announcements from the Society. Since 2009, the Bulletin has been indexed by CINAHL plus.

Now, in 2020, with its 37th volume, the journal is being upgraded by being reachable not only to the Slovenian audience but also to the widest possible public by publishing scientific and professional articles in English.

The Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Journal (MIRTJ) is an international peer-reviewed journal publishing articles of scientific and professional excellence in medical imaging and radiation therapy.

Our passion and purpose are about scientific knowledge, a systematically formal process to increase the fund of knowledge and use it properly for the development in science. The purpose of the Journal is to publish articles from all areas of diagnostic imaging (general radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine), therapeutic radiologic technology and oncology. Its aim is to exchange information between practitioners and researchers that are involved in the use of radiological imaging, radiotherapy, and interventional techniques. The articles are professional and scientific: results of research, technological assessments, case reports, etc.

The Journal website is still developing and improving due to its renewal in the submission system, however, we would like to remind you to consider MIRTJ for publishing you research work. Thus, we are attaching MIRTJ’s Author Guidelines. The articles can be currently sent to the following e-mail address: (Editor-in-chief of MIRTJ).

The Journal is also expanding its list of reviewers. Getting involved in the reviewing process can be a substantial opportunity for your professional development, research development and can keep you up to date.
