CPD Event: AOTI’s Developing Policies Procedures and Guidelines

Portlaoise, Tuesday May 16th.

Mallow, Tuesday June 6th.

This HSE funded one-day workshop will be delivered by the Wolfe Group. The training will be provided for 20 Managers and Senior Therapists nationally from the following professions: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietician, Radiography.

This workshop will be held in three different locations: Portlaoise, Mallow and Dublin (TBC) providing training for 60 participants overall.

The aim of this training is to increase Managers’ and Senior Therapists’ competence in developing and writing PPGs relevant to their departments. It will also address how to implement the PPG and the importance of monitoring, auditing and reviewing. On completion of this workshop, participants will have addressed the following areas:

  • Why Policies, Procedures and Guidelines are necessary
  • HIQA requirements
  • Differentiating between Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
  • The importance of a standardised template
  • Writing styles
  • The development process
  • Draft co-ordination and approval
  • Distribution and implementation
  • Reviewing, auditing and monitoring documents
  • The document control process

Workshop Facilitator: This training will be provided by The Wolfe Group. TWG aim to help Health & Social Care organisations to improve quality, safety and standards within their services. Priority will be given to applicants working in the publically funded Health Service. Non- HSE funded applicants are also welcome to apply. Suitable applicants who are not allocated a place will automatically be placed on a waiting list and contacted if vacancies arise. Booking fees will be rebated to applicants who are not allocated a place.
